Aptamer-based detection of fumonisin B1: A critical review

چکیده
Mycotoxin contamination is a current issue affecting several crops and processed products worldwide. Among the diverse mycotoxin group, fumonisin B1 (FB1) has become relevant compound because of its adverse effects in food chain. Conventional analytical methods previously proposed to quantify FB1 comprise LC-MS, HPLC-FLD ELISA, while novel approaches integrate different sensing platforms fluorescently labelled agents combination with antibodies. Nevertheless, such could be expensive, time-consuming require experience. Aptamers (ssDNA) are promising alternatives overcome some drawbacks conventional methods, their high affinity through specific aptamer-target binding been exploited various designs attaining favorable limits detection (LOD). So far, two aptamers have reported, modified shortened sequences explored for successful target quantification. In this critical review spanning last eight years, we conducted systematic comparison based on principal component analysis aptamer-based techniques FB1, compared chromatographic, immunological other methods. We also an in-silico prediction folded structure both under reported conditions. The potential aptasensors future development highly sensitive testing emphasized. • An insight into health significance occurrence foods. A PCA new FB1. Recent advances immunosensors detection. Comprehensive determination aptamers.

Aptamer Based Aflatoxin B1 Detection System Using Graphene Oxide Quencher
Extended Abstract Aflatoxin B1 is one of the most common mycotoxins, toxic substances produced by fungi, and produced by Aspergillus flavus. It is classified as one of International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Group 1 carcinogens and only few nanograms of aflatoxin B1 may cause liver cancer and stunted growth by permeation through skin. There are conventional diagnosis methods such as ...
متن کاملSimultaneous detection of ochratoxin A and fumonisin B1 in cereal samples using an aptamer-photonic crystal encoded suspension array.
A simple, new aptamer-photonic crystal encoded suspension array was designed to simultaneously quantify and qualify ochratoxin A(OTA) and fumonisin B1(FB1) in cereal samples. The aptamers of OTA and FB1 were immobilized on the surfaces of photonic crystals by chemical bonding. When the target mycotoxins appear in a sample, the fluorescence-labeled complementary DNA of the aptamer dissociates fr...
متن کاملDetection of Fumonisin B1 and Ochratoxin A in Grain Products Using Microsphere-Based Fluid Array Immunoassays
Grain products are a staple of diets worldwide and therefore, the ability to accurately and efficiently detect foodborne contaminants such as mycotoxins is of importance to everyone. Here we describe an indirect competitive fluid array fluoroimmunoassay to quantify the mycotoxins, fumonisin B1 and ochratoxin A. Both toxins were immobilized to the surface of microspheres using a variety of inter...
متن کاملChronic effects of fumonisin B1 on ducks.
Partially purified fumonisin B1 (FB1) was orally administrated for 77 d to 5 groups of 8 mule ducks starting at 7 d of age; the concentrations corresponded to 5 diets containing 0, 2, 8, 32, and 128 mg of FB1/kg of feed. No mortality was observed, and no effects on feed consumption and body weight gain were observed at the end of the treatment period. But, surprisingly, FB1 ingested at 32 and 1...
متن کاملAnalysis of fumonisin B1-induced apoptosis.
Fumonisins are mycotoxins produced by Fusarium moniliforme, a prevalent fungus that infects corn and other cereal grains. Fumonisin B1(FB1 is the most common mycotoxin produced by F. moniliforme, suggesting it has toxicologic significance. The structure of FB1 resembles sphingoid bases, and it inhibits ceramide synthase. Because sphingoid bases regulate cell growth, differentiation, transformat...
